I just check the Virgin America site they are not yet hiring. But the do say they will being interviewing in the near future

I don't know what's going on but the last thing we need right now in this period of overcapacity and high fuel prices is another airline. I can't think of a worse time to start up an airline.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. I don't know what's going on but the last thing we need right now in this period of overcapacity and high fuel prices is another airline. I can't think of a worse time to start up an airline.

I agree 100%.

fam62c--No, the last thing AA, UA, Delta...etc. need is for another LCC to start up.

I heard a rumor that Greenwald and Branson are fighting over percentages. Greenwald views this as a "you get out what you put in" situation. Branson views it as "The Virgin brand is a franchise. Without the name, you're just another startup."

Hope they start playing nice soon. I'm not getting any younger, you know. ;) TC

Virgin Atlantic is privately owned .. so if Branson takes home $1m/yr or $500k/yr, it doesn't matter. He can literally use that airline to squash BA if he wants to.

He'll probably use VAtlantic to subsize VAmerica and cause all sorts of trouble. Although I don't know the ownership arrangement of VAmerica .. so I'm just talking outta my azz based on VAtlantic.

I heard from a pretty good source that their financing fell through, and they might have a hard time starting operations in 2005.
