Is this election happening or what? I don't think there should be as long a delay as there has been, two months now. Any rumors on what the hold up could be, was there a miscount?

In another year maybe. News for all the non-VX folks here, 168 cards were found to be invalid due to the date being printed electronically (PDF file where you fill in the blanks and print it, then sign by hand). Seems NMB rules require the date to be hand written as well. It was unprecedented at the NMB and VAPA was allowed to withdraw its application rather than being ruled as not having enough cards. Sad day.

Seems like a simple fix since VAPA has the name and address of the card signers.

Why wait a year. Should take about 2 weeks.

Not in the eyes of the NMB. 12 months from there decision the cards were not valid before we can repetition.

That is an EPIC failure for anyone running this union drive, and even if this mistake was not caught by the VAPA pilot leaders, it should DEFINITELY have been caught by the VAPA lawyers. Lawyers, paperwork, the fine print, and detail that they get paid $500-1000/hr to do.

All this begs the question, if these people couldn't even pay that much attention to these small details, are they really the people you want representing you? My answer is a firm NO to any future VAPA election. This had fail written all over it. It's crap like this that makes a case against the traditionally lack of resources in-house unions.
