Well, we already established the fact that I am stupid, by another brilliant person like you.. did you follow the entire thread? You learned anything from that?

By the way, i got tickets but none of them said "FAA" on them.. However, I have "Certificates" ...

Speaking of California (per midlifeflyer), a quick look at the L-3, L-4 chart reveals a reference to "magnetic" in the chart legend and a quick look at some airways pointed due north-south, true, such as V-299 between Gorman and Fillmore, confirm that the charted numbers are magnetic. Also, non-circling VOR approaches aligned with runway centerlines suggest the magnetic orientation of VOR radials (and hence Victor airways), at least throughout most of the land.
I seem to recall "magnetic" as embedded in the earliest days of my training, as well. And in no-crosswind conditions, the difference between compass heading and radial/airway centerline alignment, with CDI centered, would be nominal as compared to local variation, especially in regions of significant magnetic variation, such as the East or West Coast (basically same as what midlifeflyer said--you don't add or subtract variation to keep the CDI centered--the radials are already magnetic.)
