There is one correct answer, and it is very easy to look up. Anything else is incorrect. Why would you have a poll on that?
You =did= notice the smiley, didn't you?

Bad day at the office? :)

Yeah, I noticed that, but I also noticed that he (a CFII) did start start a thread to ask whether victor airways are magnetic or true. To me, that fact speaks much more clearly than an ambiguous emoticon.

A Squared,
chill... I started the topic as a discussion.. This has been discussed in our flight school and we had different opinions.. It's one of those cases where people have answers that are not black and white..

Can't a guy start a discussion subject? :)

The fact that we are talking about it is a positive thing..

On a second question, let's take it up a notch.. How about airways defined by GPS? Are they true or magnetic? :)

Yes. this is precisely my point. Having a discussion about whether victor airways are true or magnetic is like having a discussion about whether 2+2= 4 or 5. It's not something you have "different opinions" about. You don't have "different opinions" about objective fact. The folks who think 2+2=5 don't have a "different opinion"; they are wrong. period. Similarly, the folks who think that Victor airways courses are true courses don't have "different opinions", they are wrong.

And yes, it *is* black and white. The fact that you don't grasp this speaks volumes.

ASquared,
I am not goint to get into a pissing match with you but you are not getting my point..

This is another topic like :
- Do you log PIC if you are working on your instrument rating when you are a private pilot?
- Does your CFI qualify as a BFR?
- Do I log X-C time if I am flying from and to an airport that is less than <50 miles?

Read my post. I said "the answers you are getting from people are vague" not "the real answer is vague"..

I hope you get my point.. if you don't , still blue skies to you.. :)

You're right, I don't think I'm getting your point. What *is* your point?
That many people don't know the correct answer to a simple question which is easy to look up?

As nearly as i can tell, the question came up at your flight school, and many people didn't know the correct answer...sooooo you posted the question here for what reason?

What part of "disscusss " you don't get? :)

You don't encourage dizcussion in the ground school, among your students? That is one of the best ways to learn..

I am sure my purpose would be served much better if some other people replied with "It's magnetic and this is the reason why" .. "here's the reference" .. type of discussion subject..

Don't tell me that you have these kind of grey area discussions... like the examples i gave above...

Some people did, some people didn't.. kudos to the ones that did..
