Agreed with all of you.

I always make the statement "think about it logically... while your in IMC conditions, flying along these airways, would it make sense to be sitting there having to figure out variation for that particular spot and making the appropriate correction?"

The way I remember mag vs. true for things like reported winds, runway headings, etc, is If it comes from God, it's true (referring to winds). everything else is magnetic.

no 100% correct, wind reported on the atis is magnetic, but in a metar it is true.

Also, I dont know for sure but I would be surprised if the FAA/DOT did not correct for declination over time. Crazier things have happened though. I only think this way since airports must "rename" or correct the mag heading of runways over time.

Huh? Discussion? Poll? Uhhhhh, this isn't some sort of subjective matter of opinion. There is one correct answer, and it is very easy to look up. Anything else is incorrect. Why would you have a poll on that?
