Dude-
No controller is under any obligation to give you or anyone else their operating initials on the freq. For those of you who advocate calling the watch desk or tower cab with your complaints the day will come when you'll be glad the controller isn't calling your chief pilot. Controllers give out way way more 'freebies' than they get. No one should tolerate verbal abuse but everyone has bad day and a 'no harm no foul' attitude benefits everyone in the long run.

Be happy he's giving you vectors for the approach in the first place. I used to get a vfr code when instructing instruments to find the controllers getting us on the other side of the Bravo airspace and cancelling us. One way to get the approaches without a question is to file IFR, they cant cancel a IFR on you till your final destination.
