Just a question for the UsAirways guys:

I am an ATA pilot who would like to jumpseat to FRA on you guys. Just wondering if Airways takes international jumpseaters. Thank you for any info.

I just used USair to Gatwick and had no problems going over. Even got first class and was treated wonderful by all the crewmembers.

However, getting back was a bit of a heartbeat. I THOUGHT I was listed for the return flight. I was not. The ticket agent at Gatwick said since I didn't work for USair she could not allow me to jumpseat (Changed Oct 1??). However, she put me on the nonrev list and I was on the flight no problems.

She said that I would need to list in the future and call some TSA number for a background check? Not sure what that is about.

However, I had a great time. I left from PIT and I hear that is stoping soon. You should have see the line for Frankfurt...it was huge. What flights aren't full?

Good luck!

Thank for you the info. I have heard getting back can be a little tough. I also will be flying out of pit and the flights look very good so far. As a back up I got a standby ticket on Airways. BTW, I read on the alpa web boards that gate agents overseas get confused on the difference between cockpit jumpseating and cabin jumpseating. The TSA issue pertains only if you sit in the actual cockpit jumpseat from what I understand. Anyway, thanks again!!

I was REALLY worried since I am 135 freight dog. But thanks for clearing that up.

I wasn't sure what she was talking about. And I didn't wanna ask to many questions.

Let me know how it goes...I would LOVE to go to FRA!
