What's a few pods compare to the entire 89th Wing at Andrews? I don't really think the pods are for generals, they're for congressional delegations on trips to the AOR. The generals are travelling the AOR on C-21s and C-12s.

"congressional staff calls the program a waste of money".

That's the pot calling the kettle black. I'm pretty sure that congress men get the same posh treatment that the generals get.

Don't forget all the bronze stars generals, and col's, get for simply setting foot in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Comes with the job

yea like LCDR L. B. Johnson USNR in WWII he gets a Sivler Star for flying a mission where the crew members got two point stoward their next Air Metal.

Your exactly correct check the DV codes if you have access.

. . . if you have access.

Not any more. I spend my day going real slow down the aisle of the commissary, the wrong way. Except for when I block the entire aisle with my cart while I figure out the lowest cost per ounce of every brand and size of peanut butter on the shelf. I'm working on my long winded stories, "Back when I was in, earlier this year, we used to do things much better . . . ."

Back to the point at hand. The same congressional staffs that whine about the pods will whine about the inadequate accommodations on the C-17's that don't have them. And since Secretary Brown got smeared over Croatia, the DV flights have had to follow all of the rules, all of the time, including requirements for defensive systems.

Sure they can hack into flying time at upt (after my departure thankfully) be totally broke and now they want this. Ya... glad I'm in the guard. Maybe I should walk down the road a few miles and ask them who's footing the bill.

Not necessarily. We fly many generals in the Winnebago all over the world in the KC-10. The Air Force has way too much fluff. They're losing focus. I'm glad this program was exposed for what it is...a waste!

A dedicated sortie in a KC-10 to haul a general? That's criminal fraud.

OK, they should be on C-12's and C-21's. The reason for using a real airlifter would be defensive systems, which last I knew didn't include the KC-10. The other work around is to use a C-12 or small jet with 'Army' or 'Marines' on the side so it doesn't need flares and chaff.

The civilians have a whole industry built around hauling these guys. When tactical assets are diverted, it becomes a waste.

Hey, but at least we took the parachutes off our KC-135's so we can save some gas while flying over Iraq and Afganistan... that should help foot the bill. Rumor has it the bunks are next - augmented crews don't need rest anyway... service before self...

Whats the number for Fraud, waste and abuse again?
