This is probably a good question for pilotyip, but is now a good time to apply? I noticed an interview posted, and have been interested for some time.

I have been in the pool for almost a year, LOL.

Things are slow

The on-demand business is really slow rightnow and we will not do any additional hiring this year.

Re: USLESS A JET

But Randy surely youre going to need people when Uncle Ray get his certificate from "The FED's" and kicks out all that 'Motor Freight" for some decent 8 Mile Rd. 'Hostee's"........
But then again you're not doing the hiring any more.......and Pigs WILL probably fly before you get "served" a cold breverage with a smile on that da20.

i hear even Ameristar is talking of layoffs... :(

Hey Taz

We have beverage service on the DA-20 Hot or Cold depending upon the time of year. Of course you have to pick up yoppur beverage at the counter before manning your thrusty steed. As far as the 8 mile hoties goes, not on USA Jet, it might be fun. we could never let that happen.

Lay-off's at USAJet Airlines...AGAIN!!!!

Hey Randy just found out today that Uncle Ray has handed out Pink slips to Pilots, Aircraft Maintenence, Account Personell, and Customer "Circus" i mean Service. Ha!ha!! I thought that life was rosey with all that flying and SEC money floating thru the companys' viens, and the soon to be passenger operation with the 8 mile Rd. Hostie's.
And that they were going to hire alot of new guy's for this "new operation"!!!!!!!
The one thing that is and has ALWAYS been true about USless A Jet is that all the Good people that get screwed for their efforts and hard work, NEVER COME BACK!!..........

......HERE'S Looking at you Kid.......

A guy I used to work with was in the "POOL"for a LONG, LONG time and finally he went to work flying piston twins for somebody.
Guess he wasn't the only one who got the line thrown to him.

I just got back from a 5 day vacation where i spent ALOT of money. Called in to UsaJet dispatch to see how busy we were and what number i would likely be in rotation tomorrow... "hold on the Chief Pilot needs to speak to you...."

Yea, 13 guys just got laid off from USAJet, they went by senority and will recall by senority... 3 guys volunteered for what ever reason so that make me number 4 to be recalled out of 10. It was a fun 9 months and i hope to get recalled soon.... *holds breath*

Anyone know of ANY jobs out there for a 4000 hour pilot with 2000 hours of Falcon 20 time? also... anyone clarify the rumor that Cherry Air has ceased operations? and that Grande Aire is following closely behind? and that Ameristar has grounded thier 9's and 737's and furloughed X numbers of pilots.... ?

nope

also... anyone clarify the rumor that Cherry Air has ceased operations?

no they havent, but did layoff

and that Grande Aire is following closely behind?

no idea

and that Ameristar has grounded thier 9's and 737's

last i heard, no

and furloughed X numbers of pilots.... ?

supposedly about to happen

Heard Ameristar lost or got thier 125 certificate suspended for the 737 - DC-9, know some guys there. Probably going to furlough in near future. Told the pilots they're to fly the lears at .74 and the falcons at .70 to save money.

Grande Aire No Idea, was on there ramp last week and still look like the operating.

Cherry still going, think they furloughed some guys in March.

Xfr8dog ...you might try Kaletta across the field, heard they got Reliants falcons and slowly putting them online.

Please correct me if I am wrong, wouldn't want to spread any bad rumors on here.:)

Squirreldog

The rumor about Kalitta buying Reliants falcons is true. They also pay a flat $250/per week with no milage or hourly extras. The state of Michigan paid (this is 10 months ago when i got furloughed from Reliant) $313/per week. Now the rumor i can throw onto the boards is that Bush raised the maximum to $380/per week, with an extension to 26 weeks to collect. Ill get back to this thread in a week or two to validate this...

I just paid the 36 bucks to apply to USA Jet. Is there a point int he future that an application gets tossed if they arent hiring or is the application on file forever?

Thanks

Hey Checks, I believe there is a hefty pool still. I have been in it since August last year.

I know that the pool is large... i wont toss out a number because it would only be a guess... PilotYip would be able to give you exact figures... in the past two and a half years however the hiring has been approxomately 4 guys in a class and one class every 8-9 months... I was in not the very last class, but the one before it and am now furloughed. Dont hold your breath.

Since when did Reliant open the doors?

They went away a while back.

maybe!?

Some may be a little skecthy, but which ones are you referring to. Some of these "rumors" have been told to me by several different sources VERY close to the companys (first hand in some cases). I don't like to start rumors but the thread starter or whomever wanted some info on the industry. So if something is not right and You can back up what is wrong please be more specific in your comments. Again this info was given to me voluntary and from several sources I know are good (good friends, management..etc...).

so Loco are you LOCO? (thats german right) :p

squirreldog outahere...

i was wondering same, but then again this ad is from ProAcm, and they arent exactly known for their up-to-date ads

I hate see any freight pilot going through this no matter what company you work for. There have been too many layoff in this industry, and I have a feeling we can expect more. Latest news is there is not going to be a build out this year. The trips in June will not be that of the last four years, they will be that of the last four months. If things don't start to turn around soon, I'm sure there will be a lot more of us in the unemployment line.

Ameristar did not lose the 125 certificate, but they are converting the 9s to the 121 certificate. They are currently flying today under the 125. Furlough rumors are running rampant, but nothing yet. Holding out that hope that it will be a descent build-out. Crazy times my friends.

Not much moved today on the flight tracker...thats for sure

haha... where did you get that Reliant add...? I'll be sure to never trust that source... Reliant ceased operations close to 2 years ago... Ameristar is flying thier DC-9's with the Reliant logo spray-painted over... Kalitta bought all thier DA-20's and is paying thier FO's $250.00/week flat.

Reliant

I think Kalitta bought the Reliant certificate - that's what I've heard. I have not heard a Reliant callsign in the air though.Or a Kalitta callsign using those airplanes And I haven't seen those Falcons over at Kalitta fly either - but then again, no one's Falcons seem to be flying.

Tough times in the cargo biz... good luck Xfr8dog
