I think the whole on-demand 135 industry is going to struggle to find pilots for now. USA Jet wants 750ME, Ameristar is looking for FOs with 2000TT and 1000ME. I would assume that most pilots with this kind of time already have a job flying with a decent company and when they hear about the type of flying, the schedule, and that they have to be based at Willow Run many will just say no. Sure, you won’t make as much money at the regionals, but you can get hired at 200ME and have a better schedule.

Lifestyle

If into lifestyle, you know all day time flying, no work besides closing the door and same routes day after day, do not apply at an on-demand cargo operation. However if want to develope those skills that many airlines are looking for, the ability to fly as a Captain, make decisions, keep the trip running safely and find a way to get the job done correctly, then on-demand is the place to go. You will get quality TJ PIC in a much shorter time than at a regional. If you want to fly as DC-9 Captain in 4 years, if you want a shot at any place that is hiring, then think again about the on-demand business. Many many successful Captain on this board got their start in the on-demand business. DO NOT SELL IT SHORT.

Hi!

R the Falcons (& -9s) really going to be TCAS'd and TAW'd? I didn't think they were-if it was said jokingly the RVSM thing threw me off.

I heard that 817 was coming back as it could be RVSM'd.

817

817 is never coming back, I saw 819 move, I saw the doors open on 820, something might be going on.

They have a 20 minute call out time, so if you figure getting awaken at 3am in the dead of sleep then having to be at the airplane in 20 minutes, you're restricted to pretty much Belleville/Ypsi. But it's not the worst place on earth to live, you just gotta pick a good spot. Whatever you do, avoid the Harbour Club, the leasing office is staffed with a bunch of clowns.....

That is why 11 days off per month

That is why the DA-20 guys need their 11 hard days off per month. It is a ruff life style, no doubt. The 11 days lets a pilot get away from that routine. And the 3 AM call out only happens a coulpe times a month average. It is the 2300 L call out that really sucks.

Hmmm, 20 mins. is not much time. I live in Royal Oak and the best I can do is about 40 mins. to Jet Center East. It would be hard to justify a move. Any chance they will need pilots bad enough that they would waive that time?

T-Gates, Let's see ATL? F-ed Delta pilot?
