Of Course guys that have been here eight years or more aren't gonna go anywhere. There are a few guys that this would exclude here, but for the most part they all have skeletons in the closet...excluding the age factor. The decision is wether the three stooges that run the company Larry, Curly, and Moe are gonna continue to run a comedy show that is the joke amongst the industry or figure things out. I bet the Wachendorfer Brothers are wondering what time next year is Usa Jet gonna be fininacially hurting. Based on Pilot Yips theory of History I would have to go with Mid March through Late June, but next year is an even year so they will scathe by until 07. That should put us right on track according to Historical documents...ie:01,03,05 and soon to be 07 followed by 09 then possible extinction in 11. Plan B, there is no plan B because Larry, Moe and Curly have no solid legitiment Plan A. Oh well....hey anybody on the board here know of any good Freight jobs out there?

I was thinking maybe we can all get together and have a prayer meeting at usajet. Infact let's pray right now
a} Lord please improve the morale at usajet because it's the worst i have ever seen.
b} lord let everyone inthe company take pay cuts not just the pilots. Every manager, every mechanic, every secretary, etc and then the pilots will only take a 7% paycut not 27%
c] LORD- Let ameristar management come and run our company because in today's business environment they and able to compete without cutting the pilot's pay. They must be able to run a company better than our managers.
d} Lord - let the company be consistent in all their decisions, and always layoff unstead of cutting pay .First officers are making less money than unemployment pays in michigan.
Last but not least i pray that we get new managers that can make our company prosper without cutting our pay.
TO my fellow pilots. Keep eating of that 99 cent menu.

I hear they just announced that all crew benefits were cancelled (Crew meals, going home for days off, loading pay etc) and layoffs/paycuts are only a few days away? WTF? Sounds like a re-run of last year...

current conditions. None of us has a crystal ball....

I'm kind of curious to hear from YIP too. We haul a lot of auto parts and last year was a pretty good year. By comparison, I am on track to fly about 65% of what I flew last year. I can't tell you the last time I flew any Ford or GM parts. So, if USA Jet was having trouble last year, I can only imagine how things are this year. What is going on over there YIP? You guys have enough junk parked on the south end of the ramp. Are there more aircraft that are going to be parted out? Maybe you guys can add to the collection on the westside as well. What I really wonder is how it is that they do so well with their Falcons. Also, how is it that Royal Air, IFL, and Falcon leasing are not only doing well, but still adding aircraft? I have never been able to figure out how it is that the parent company jobs out Falcon trips to other carriers. Specially when the stuff is coming out of the Detroit area. I have also never been able to figure out how it is that you guys have a nice Lear 25, yet never fly freight in it and just hire other companies. Someone told me and it might have been you, that the lear was just recently added to the certificate. I don't get it, you say there is a sound business plan? How do you figure? Is it only that you guys are getting out of the freight business and trying to just make money brokering those trips? Another thing, you and I have talked before how the parent company is making it harder for the carriers that work for you guys. That I don't get either. You don't kick someone when they are down. If insurance requirements are going to get crazy, then at least wait until people actually want to work for you and can make some money. Either that or carry the extra liability insurance yourself. This year we are spending 25% more on insurance and it looks like we will fly 75% less for you guys. That doesn't really add up! And for Christ sakes, give the new CSR folks some training. They either don't get any or have a fairly low IQ. Keith comes to mind.

I have never been able to figure out how it is that the parent company jobs out Falcon trips to other carriers. Specially when the stuff is coming out of the Detroit area.

Active Aero is separate from USA Jet. Active Aero is making money off of brokering trips through whoever. If USA Jet can't compete with the other carriers like Ameristar, Kalitta, Cherry etc., they will not make money and have to swallow paycuts/layoffs.

My guess is that Active Aero is trying to shut down USA Jet because why have your own airline if you can do the same business with other carriers for less? All the profitable growth in the company (Charters/PTM etc.) has been in AA not JUS...

AA has different agreements with each customer. They get a certain percentage off of every brokered trip. It does not matter if it goes in their aircraft or another carrier. So if that part of the company is making money, then great, but it still makes no sense(or cents) why they give Falcon trips to other operators. It also makes no sense why they have a lear 25 that does not fly freight, but probably job out at least a dozen lear trips per day. Why the heck do they also have a King Air 90 and a Gulfstream that does nothing. I seriously doubt that AA wants JUS to go under. In fact they kind of look out for them. I have seen plenty of Lear loads go in JUS falcons.

Hmmm....PilotYIP is staying awfully quite. I wonder if it is because they FIRED 8 of the highest paid pilots yesterday in a witch hunt that his son should have been the only one put on trial for, but once again managed to escape from. That is how good things are at USA Jet. He is defenseless in the face of how hideously this company continues to treat some of their hardest working company men, the guys who will sell every day off back, the guys who do the majority of the flying, the guys who would NOT vote for the very UNION that could have saved their backsides, the guys who have given no trouble to anyone ever, and they get shown the door after following the sage advice of YIPs progeny, who as I mentioned, is not only still employed with USELESS Jet but is probably up for a check airman promotion any day now. Any comments on the recent and dispicable upheaveal YIP? Let it be known that if you break some imaginary company policy that has never been discussed, or mentioned in any company meeting or handbook you will not recieve a warning, you will not get a slap on the wrist, you will be escorted from the building, regardless of your 12 or so years of flawless service. Too bad they don't all have daddy holding a management position. Everyone knows who had the big idea, who did the big stealing, who started the whole club, and who repeatedly and intentionally stuck it to the company for a few measley credit card points. I'm sure YIP can give us all a good explanation, he must have given the other management one.

Nothing like a good ole USA Jet thread to bring out all the old timers from the woodwork. Look at VABB and 817 only couple posts since summer of 2005; look at tailrotor more posts in the last 24 hours than the entire previous year. Looks like USA Jet is bringing life back to flightinfo. Just like the good ole days. I have learned more reading this than I learned around the office, and of course it would be inappropriate to comment without the company making a disclosure.

Beside the guys let go, we had 6 others leave in the last 4 weeks. Customs. NetJets, DAL recalls. All part of the 2007 hiring boom. The pay reduction sucks, but to get the same savings in dollars almost 30 pilot would have lost their jobs and another 10 Captains would have been bumped back in pay and seat to F/O. As business returns, pay will return, this was stated at the state of the union .
