Just what, exactly, are those "additional resources" that ALPA has and IBT does not? I'm sure enquiring minds would like to know.

In-house Economics & Financial Analysis department that is so highly regarded that even the airline management teams pay ALPA for the service, dozens of attorneys and professional negotiators, including experts in fields like scope and insurance, professional lobbyists that specialize in pilot issues on Capital Hill, etc.... If you're a trucker and want a union that specializes in your field of work, then you can't beat the IBT. But we aren't truckers. Pilots need representation that specializes in pilot issues.

I'm underwhelmed. We have attorneys on staff. We hire additonal assistance from various experts as needed. IBT has professional lobbyists on staff as well. They specialize in labor issues, and have assisted us in getting our pilot reps into see various senators and congressmen to discuss the pilot issues of concern to us. Beyond that, we have the support of 1 million + other teamsters, many of whom work for DHL, in the event we ever need it in a job action.

ALPA may work well for you. They told us to go play in the traffic we tried to organize. IBT supported us.

Oh boy 747, there is a great one decertified by UPS, decertified by Net Jets, and got holding the bag when Zantop pretended to go out of business where they made sure they took dues out of our last paychecks. BTW After Zantop decided not to go out of business 747 made a deal with Zantop management that paid the L-188 Captain less than USA Jet DA-20 Captains and they had fewer days off. Is that what someone wants?

Netjet pilots were never represented by 747. They were with 284 until they established the Teamsters fractional local.

If things are getting so much better and looking better, then why is it taking longer than ever (60+ days) to pay vendors for work flown before all the layoffs in hopes of shrinking the overhead?

AP is not answering calls anymore when trying to determine if a check has been cut from any one of the numerous "companies'" (plural possessive) they used to search to find our invoices!

Fold up! or Pay UP! The Execs should not be using the hard work and backs of their employees and the subcontractors to milk the gravy train a little while longer.

Hi!

Mesaba needs 10 mechanics in DTW. They are hiring for other positions, also. In ATL they need 40. Looking for some supervisors in different areas.

They are hiring a LOT of people, as they are getting a bunch of bigger RJs for DAL.
