Any word on the former AWA, now US Airways pilot pool? I am sure it was discussed here previously, however I am not on this website often enough to keep up with all the excitement.

Thanks in advance!!

Yep... It's gone for all intents and purpose; unless all of the airways furloughees spontaneously reject recall...

For anyone in the pool.

As everyone has stated above the pool is essentially gone.

Tracy and Tammy do not work for the US Airways anymore. Have met the new recruiters and I don't think they even realized their was a pilot pool.

I sorry for those who were in the pool hoping for a chance.

The guys/girls in the pool had a conditional offer to hire, but no class date. Official date of hire would have been the first day of class.

I was hoping to at least get a letter from AWA saying that we were no longer in the pool and thanks being a participant. Tammi Kimm was always very good at updating us every 2 or 3 months. They must not have given her much time to pack her stuff when they told her that she no longer had a job.

I feel terrible about everyone getting dropped, I had a buddy who had his app in but never got the invite for an interview. Personally I think they're making a big mistake. My prediction is they'll only get around 20 to 30% of the furloughs back, they seem to think it'll be more but I seriously doubt it. They'll burn through the list and then suddenly realize they're short and they'll start scrambling when all along they could've kept the pool of guys and gals on the shelf for a little longer.

If they're not already recognizing a need to hire off the street in June '07 (that one's for you pilotyip ;), but I'm serious) then their heads are in the sand. Airways will be hiring off the street for E190 FOs long before all recalls come back. Just be willing to sit right seat in the 190 for a few years before getting to the higher paying equipment.
