US Airways is already the proud owner of 3 regional airlines, if we buy American that will include AE so 4 regionals. My bet is that we are not even slightly interested in anything other than regional feed from Skywest.

Skywest is a great carrier and is fine on it's own.

IMHO

Actually, AWA and AAA lists have already been merged...

It would be merging the SkyWest, Expressjet, and ASA lists with the Nicolau List.

Xjet will be done. Skywest will be stapled to the bottom since they have no representation. But not to worry, they are perfectly comfortable on the coattail.

Float another "jets for jobs," add some "turboprops for jobs" and it is happening. US Airways sees the AA unions for what they are, negotiating tools with AA management. Instead of more strife, they'll get groups happy to have the scraps. Merge PSA with the Skywest/Mesa ops, Piedmont with the ASA/Expressjet ops. They can then dump all of the old airframes and block Delta's and United's regional feed.

Skywest has to feed a number of airlines to remain viable and couldn't do so if owned by a competitor to those customers. Learn the lessons of Republic, Independence, etc.
