US Airways 3/17 Class

Here's the first class that will have 5 of W/O pilots from Piedmont. Anyone else going to this class?? (No east-west bickering please.)

Also, I have heard that they will be based out west.

Wow - PHX based? Nice. I would think they would prefer to be based in PHL on the E190 or bigger given that PDT is also based on the East Coast.

Since they saw Piedmont pilots, who all live east, coming, the only logical place to put them was, of course, WEST!!

Well, on the positive side, the housing market in PHX has tanked big time - you can live in the sun on the cheap there.

It was mid December. But I wouldn't use this as an indication of how long it would take from interview to class, since, for W/Os it works a little differently. They can't go until their company, PDT or PSA, releases them.

It's been mentioned around the training center in CLT that some of next class may end up in the 737. As usual, this should be taken with an airline-sized salt grain.

I have heard that also. In fact, the choices I have heard are 737 or 320.

Briefly chatted w/ a PDT Captain in CHO yesterday...Said he'd just done his last leg in the Dash and he was onto mainline and PHX next week. Seemed he couldn't get out of the terminal quick enough! Congrats, man!

I heard 45 guys in a single class around mid april. All j4j and all group 2.

From what I know:

the April 14th class is going to be 50 (give or take a few). All j4j (held as of july 9th thus with a release date of April 9th).

It will be a one week (re)indoc (14th to 18th) in CLT. They are going to use a hotel conf. room because of the class size.

Initial word from guys who asked questions when called for the class is that group 2 will be avail to the whole class however if you want the 190 then it can be worked out.

2 guys were roughly Nov 15th and 17th I was Nov 28th other 3 interviewed mid Dec. If I recall it correctly.

Ya' know whats sad? Ive wanted to be there since the late 90's, Ive got a "golden referral", a 190 type, and I cant get called! I'd take the 190 or PHX! Sorry, nothing relevant to offer this thread, just a frustration vent because I want to be there and I cant get a call!

Have you gone to a job fair? There's one at LAX on th 29th

No, Ive never been and Ive heard less than hopeful things about the job fairs....What sucks is Im in the middle of a 4 day during that one, and based on what Ive heard, (maybe others can shed some light) going to a job fair might not really help your chances.....Hence, Im not convinced I should trip trade to make it.....Inputs?
