Does a recommendation letter from someone in the Finance department down in Atlanta have any value. If so, which department should he contact? Also, what types of schedules does UPS have in ONT? Any out and back or 2 day trips? Would appreciate the info. Thanks.

Yes. UPS mgt recs carry a ton of influence, even more than a line pilot's. I am SDF based but I hear that ONT is not good for commuters. I know we have a lot of out and backs since I have only spent 4 days away from SDF on duty since Sept.

Lil J is right mgt recs are the best. Have your contact call Phill Donahue in H.R (SDF)...As for ONT If you live in so cal bidding reserve is great. There are some out and back lines and some 2 day action mostly HNL turns. Hope this helps
Good Luck

Thanks guys for the response. I do live in SoCal, just wondering how does reserve work. Is is seniority based, or a bucket system. One last thing, how long would it take to get ONT? Thanks.

Yes, reserve is seniority based... I was awarded ONT 756 as a new hire last year. If you don't get it, I would think after one year of probation you could hold it on a bid.
