Exactamundo Johnny! I always get a hearty chuckle out of the "new guys" (and gals, sorry Mega ...even though you're apparently "hot and smart" ) that proclaim the old head's at UPS are full of it and in their 6 months on the job they've never witnessed the company doing any wrong. :laugh:

Ask Kathy how she felt about being fired over "allegedly" stealing "Founder's Day cake", or how about Brian over "taking too much mil leave" (never mind his unit was DEPLOYED and what UPS did was ILLEGAL!) or how about Steve writing up an inoperative seat belt and getting fired for it? All were subsequently re-hired with full pay and bennies of course, but "UPS's heavy handedness" didn't escape many ... oh except perhaps those that haven't been here but a few months and of course "know-it-all". LOL!! I personally now of DOZENS of similarly outrageous firings (all re-hired with full back pay/bennies) due to UPS's attempted intimidation of crew members. Perhaps these "FNG's" would gain some valuable INSIGHT if they actually took the time to speak with any of these folks... sorry d-jumbo, it's not "IF", it's WHEN" ... and it WILL happen to you too. You'll just have to trust me on this. Perhaps if you displayed just a little more humility and acknowledged that perhaps you "haven't seen it all" in your first year or so, then many of the guys that have been around UPS 10 or 20 YEARS wouldn't feel so inclined to LAUGH at your "new guy" observations.

Johnny ... just chuckle and know in your heart it is just a matter of time till the old broom stick is attempted to be inserted into one of these new pilots' orifice which the big guy said was "off limits", except for spouses or hot girlfriends (or boyfriends Mega!)

Ready2Fly is TheGuat, Rhoid, IHaveAPension, LucyFurr, E170GuppyKiller, TheGuppyKiller, GuppyKiller, TheMissingLink, ABXpert, UPSer, RJDC, OUT, 410Dude, BR549, FreightNazi....etc...etc... Ignore anything and everything he has to say. He has been "permanently" banned over 20 times yet continues to come around just to annoy people. Swat this fly.

Mega ... the fantasy of "megadeth" as the full-figured know-it-all nurse Kratchet (sp?) just gets my blood pumping... and to think you are "hot" and "smart" to boot ... well, I've practically gone through my supply of meds!

Perhaps my response was a little extreme ... nah, never happens .... but the next day after Jack has left my head things are often a bit more mellow ... but the darn "edit" button has disappeared!

First off, Mega was not military. There is noone at UPS with a dishonorable discharge. The female to whom you refer was not discharged she resigned--big difference.

I think its funny how these "New Hires" who have been here only a year or so think that it is us "old farts" who are not willing to give "good olé UPS" a chance. Its our "bad attitudes" that perpetuate the myth that UPS treats its employee groups bad. Don't forget, many of us had other options other than UPS, This is the place we (myself included) wanted to be Pre 9/11. I have given UPS many chances and each time, they have proven to me that when the going get tough, UPS will stick it to you in the blink of an eye.

I hope for Mega's sake and the others who believe its us "old farts" who are the problem have a wonderful, eventless career here at UPS, as I do for us all.

Guys, don't let a few disgruntled UPS pilots succeed in painting a dim picture of managment relations. Remember, you are hearing from only about 2-3 pilots out around 3000. Typically these kind of people that complain about management are complete screw ups (Failed checkrides, bad attitudes with other crewmembers, avoidance bid, go off the sides of taxiways, etc... ) or didn't make the cut for a managment pilot position. And guess what, there attitudes reflect their poor performance. Don't believe anything they say.

Nothing to fear BBDC8 ... I'm still the same insensitive, calloused, know-it-all I've always been! I've just gone "soft" on Mega (now that she's mega-hot-n-smart!) Truth is she "biatch-slapped" me pretty bad in a few IM's over this topic a while back and I'm still hurtin'. My wife tells me I'm happy at home and Mega tells me I'm happy at work ... takes all the guesswork out of it I figure.

Dude, your avatar is about what I look like after some Class 4/5 rapids today at an unnamed Colorado river. Holy cow, I really was worried today on 4 different occasion each lasting about 2-3 seconds about living. Thought I was going to die and get an intro to Ty Webb and that horned guy with pitch fork.:laugh: I made it but according to my wife I am officially getting old.

Wish I could be a manager at UPS but I do have a pretty good gig going. Either way, you guys just don't bite!! If that had been an Airtran poster, I would have had the standard death threats waiting!!:laugh:
