Bad Form...

This post is all flame... A typical mine is bigger than theirs is post....

Look at it this way... FEDEX has 4400 pilots and UPS has only 2600.... Thats what we really care about... NOW who has the bigger one...

was not meant to be negative...just info that came out on Forbes. Take it for whatever you want to...as always negative.

The paychecks are still hitting the banks on time at both places. Beyond that, who cares who is bigger?

The useless information of knowing tht ups is #115.. browneye

I don't think so. A lot of pilots are waiting until they break #110 to get their app in. Personally I thought #120 was the magic number.

Yeah,..........well my big brother can beat up your big brother...........

CAL is 1298.

Contract flying?

FedEx already has contract flying. In the form of wet leases and the full-time feeder ops ( ATR's and Caravans).

Check the DHL payrates, last I recall their pilots enjoyed a descent payrate rate.......even though they get paid in German Doosh Marks!

Mo,

Really, I think Ailerongirl is more qualified than you to make that call:D

UPS is larger, they look at the whole picture of the company not just the airline. UPS is Air and Ground... Fedex is Fedex, Fedex Ground, Fedex Home Delivery etc... Yes the air division is larger at Fedex, but in all reality of shipping packages UPS dominates the industry.

Missing the big picture......??

On a world scale FEDEX and UPS are ranked about the same... 85 numbers doesn't really matter.....

What does matter is the type of contract the UPS and FX pilots are able to negotiate. The pax pilots need a good contact to refer to in a couple of years.... Not UAL and DAL's shred and dread CBA.....

Fred Smith is negotiating from a position of....the pilots taking a paycut. Which is hard to justify since they are the Worlds 200th best company and they are making profits.....

Yeah thanks for the info. I'm not talkin' about F-27/ART's and Vans. What I'm saying is how long is it before FDX/UPS need to compete with DHL and inorder to do that need to have "big" lift at small $$$? Enter contract carriers. Yes DHL has some good pay but no where near the work rules and retirement/bennies that FDX/UPS have. That is where mgmnt will look to save $$$.

Please do not reply with some dribble about an "iron clad" scope clause. We all know how good they are.

Nobody is safe, its aviation.

Except FedEx and UPS pilots! Remember UPS used to be ALL contractors. Go spread your doom and gloom about some other operator. FedEx and UPS are not going anywhere, they will be the two premier airlines to get on with and the major pax airlines will not be anywhere close to where they used to be for pay/bennies/retirement?QOL.
