I think the info that someone left to go back to UAL is just a rumor. You might want to check your source.

Nope.........

I wish it was a rumor. I know the guy that took his spot on the A-300 and he loves the fact that he moved up from the panel of the 8 to the right seat of the Airbus. This guy that left supposedly was a current UAL guy and had been there for 11 years and his excuse was " he was going back to what he knows and was used to" Just leave it to a f*cking douche bag like that to ruine it for all the pilots waiting to get into brown. Truely sad and I expect brown to make some changes because of this..... no more furloughed guys, resign your furloughed seniority number, or whatever they come up with... who knows. Somebody find this guy and lets give him a nice send off from SDF ;). Good luck to the all of you guys waiting and waterlogged........

That's too bad. I know of 22 pilots where I currently work that were shot down in the interview process. They did eventually hire 2, they didn't even wait in the pool -- 757 F/O right off. I can guarantee you none of these guys would have left UPS. Sad. I did hear they hired a female that had a dishonable discharge from the Air Force, yet turned down a Colonel in the Guard with an impeccable record. Is there a point where you guys are banging your head against the wall over there or what?

Why is it anyone's business who someone is "banging"? Just curious. I mean, if it was a superior, then maybe I can see that.

I would like to apologize to American Idiot. It seems he is right and some dip s**t did go back to UAL.

capt. megadeth, it had more to do with violating military rules and ethics.

There were no current UAL guys in the class that got the Airbus.

Okay.... then he took a leave from UAL, because I know he was at UAL for 11 years. Initials are TM if I recall AND the guy that took his spot WAS a current UAL 76 driver and I saw him going doing his CBT's in the A300 today....there is a slight chance I could be wrong, but if I were you I'd check my facts again.

I just hope this ripple doesn't end up being a freaking tsunami. Too many good qualified guys/gals out there.......

Last time I checked, you have to earn the job. Just cause your the F--king ace of the base doesn't mean sh-t! You have to earn the job. When will you wanna B's get it through your heads? It's obvious that this female earned the job and I can confirm via first hand knowledge that the people in charge knew her record when they hired her.

Your company has a big problem then.

KF aside, can any of the poolies help me out? I just got called for an interview in 3 weeks and am prepping like mad. I have the following questions;
1) Which sim will they use for the eval?
2) Are the most recent summaries on aviationinterviews.com still accurate?
3) Any general recommendations?
I am a strictly military guy with 3000 hours total/2000 heavy jet PIC and a lot of "international" flying over Baghdad. This is my dream job and I definitely want to make the most of the opportunity.

A little off the subject here, but does anyone know when new hires insurance kicks in? Is it day one or does it take 30 days or something? Thanks

Stan,
Don't sweat it. Appears that this furloughee thing may blow over unless it becomes a trend. I think there will be a trend of people leaving for Fedex and SWA until first year pay is fixed at UPS. It's a simple matter of economics, nothing personal. The real dilemma is how do you face the people that recommended you? I personally don't think I could do it.

Clownhater,
Actually a good question because it is of interest to poolies and that's what this thread is about. It is not about KF and who she sleeps with, etc. I think the wait for medical is 30 days, but maybe someone on the property can confirm that.

LJS,
aviationinterviews.com are still accurate and by reading them you will see that just about any sim is fair game. The only :) thing to study is info about the company and your tech stuff; aiport lighting, alt req's, metars, etc. The HR portion of the interview is very straight forward. Just be yourself and be honest. Your stories need tell something about you that makes UPS want hire you. That's all.

They've managed to keep losers like YOU out. They must be doing something right.

Can't work there anyway, a close member of my family already does. You might want to get a grip on that anger problem of yours.

Have used a bit of everything...727, DC8, 767 FBS, MD11 FBS, A300. Not sure what the flavor of choice is these days. Much depends on the level of training activity any given day.

Not sure, but probably...

Know company background and history, and make it clear that you want to work for UPS and that it is your dream job. In other words, you won't leave halfway through your training after the company has a vested interest in you. Good luck!
