Are there any husbands/wives (pilots) at UPS? Am I correct in thinking that UPS will not hire relatives of employees?

You are correct. It stops with cousins I beleive. Although you can work part time as a box thrower. I've confirmed this with the CP's office and HR when I called them both last year because it affects me..

Incorrect. Any relative can work at UPS. The only catch is that neither of you can be a subordinate of the other in the same department. This is non-airline policy. I would assume they wouldn't let a husband/wife be pilots there though. If it came down to my being married prevented my employment at UPS, I would be getting a divorce real quick! Just get remarried after you are hired...

As Far as being a pilot is concerned if you have a relative that works for UPS in any full-time capacity, the nepotism rule prevents you from working as a pilot. At least this is what the CP's told me and the HR lady, also confirmed by my uncle in senior management. Otherwise I'd be trying to work there....

Where does it stop as far as being a relative. Second cousin, third cousin? Thanks.

While I generally hold UPS in high regard, that policy is retarded.

While I agree its retarded and prevents alot of good people from coming in, it also prevents the country-club "management captain's barely qualified son" from being hired that is so prevelant at many other airlines.

I'd make the cutoff at the airline. If your aunt is a part-time hub sup in PHL, that shouldn't keep you from being hired, IMO.

There are husbands/wives here, but they all got married post-employment. Some even fly together. FedEx will hire married couples/relatives, no problem.
