Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows where UPS' nepotism definition can be found. I'd like to help my son-in-law get a job throwing boxes, but not sure if it'd be frowned upon.

Thanks,

Ben

I Suggest you change your title SWA Nepotism Question?

Air District HR told me that if you were a pilot or management or ______ (fill in blank) a family member could still get a job tossing boxes in the hub but could not move to any position other than package handler or be promoted into part-time management as long as you were still employed with the company.

FWIW...you mileage may vary.

A good friend of mine was called by UPS for an interview many years ago. On the phone they asked if he knew anyone or had any relatives working for UPS. Being the honest guy that he is, he said that his sister-in-law's husband was a driver for UPS. The lady said she was sorry but he didn't qualify for a position as he had a relative at the company. That is really stretching nepostism if you ask me, but that is the case with UPS. My friend would have done well to not say anything. There is no way UPS could have make a connection between the driver and my friend unless he mentioned it. I would say the same is true for your son-in-law.

Yeah, why don't you UPSers go find your own message board. I suggest "Cargo" Since there is no "take over the World Global Carrier" board.

This is the Southwest board only ;)

Did y'all notice he made identical posts in Majors and Cargo? Guess which one got the responses. :)
