OK Gent's, I searched in the archives and could not find any old conversations talking about this.... So here it is....

What is the conversion factor for military time with UPS, and do they want it applied on the application, or do they want to do it themselves?

They did not want the military conversion applied to anything. I am not sure if they use one or not but for the paperwork I had to bring to the interview they said don't use one.

Actually having been called by UPS and denied an interview because I am a little short on PIC Turbine....there is a conversion..it isn't posted, but I was told .3/sortie by the guy who was verifying my times.

Conversion

I was told by my buds that work at the brown that .3/sortie was acceptable. I used that conversion and I am in the pool. Hope that helps..

What are the mins at Brown right now?

The pre-interview paperwork this year specifically said that no conversion should be used for military time. That was the first time that I saw an official policy.

Ernst--
The pre-interview paperwork... So did you use anything on the initial application (before you got to the pre-interview stage)?

Hobo,

Yes, I was unable to find any other guidance, so I used the standard 0.3 per sortie conversion for military flight time on all the UPS applications I have submitted since 1999. I adjusted the times on my resume for the interview because of their specific instructions not to include the military conversion on the pre-interview paperwork. The difference was not addressed during the interview. It may have been a good question to ask them then just to alleviate any confusion, but I had exceeded their minimums and did not find a way to gracefully broach the subject. Good luck!
