I hope some of you Big Brown Drivers can confirm or deny a rumor I just caught wind of. I heard on another board that UPS has already or soon will be opening their jumpseats to certain Offline Jumpseaters.

My understanding was that CASS was being implemented soon but that the companies of the offline jumpseaters had to be on board with the equipment, etc.

Any new news on this front?

Thanks for any info.

cant speak for in the near future but I havent caught wind of anyone "already" jumpseating from non-UPS.
As interns we don't even get em.....hope the rumor comes to be so I can see what its like up there ;)

Hey guys,

As a Captain with UPS it would be my esteemed pleasure to offer rides again to all of my fellow FAR part 121, 135, weekend flyers, crop dusters, etc. UPS and our Union (IPA) are working very closely to make this happen. As all of you know it's been a tough road to hoe dealing with the FAA and the wonderful TSA. When it happens everyone will know. Until then thanks so very much from all of us to those of you allowing us a free ride to and from home. You guys are the best.

Cheers

Curious, when that does happen, is there a good number to call UPS to sign up for the jumpseat??

RichO,

When it does happen you must be on UPS's approved jumpseat listing. If so the number would be 1-800-228-2739 and follow the correct prompts. I am not sure what would be required of your company to be on our approved list.

Hope this helps.
