UPS CFO does not see U.S. economy getting much worse
Thu Apr 23, 2009 11:15am EDT
CHICAGO, April 23 (Reuters) - Although it is hard to say when the U.S. economy will recover, the pace of decline appears to be slowing, a top executive at United Parcel Service Inc (UPS.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Thursday.
"We don't have a unique telescope to the future on the U.S. economy ... but we don't think it's going to get much worse," Chief Financial Officer Kurt Kuehn told Reuters in a telephone interview.
Kuehn added that he expected recent gains in market share made by the world's largest package delivery company -- in particular in its international package business -- would continue. (Reporting by Nick Carey, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
