Just saw the March bid packs. Some of the Feb 27th Furloughs are here and bidding for the March schedule. One of them is going to recurrent as well. I guess crew planning didn't plan for such a large amount of pilot resignation letters. I wonder when the preview for Saab captain upgrades will be. I'm guessing in April or May.

I only see one Saab FO that is staying. Is he the only Feb 27 furlough that is bidding for March? Unless there are some Avro FO's as well.

Most if not all of the current avro fo's shouldn't be anywhere near furlough... the junior avro fo's are mostly on the saab now...

Actually all the junior guys are being furloughed. Me on the 15th.

I am on the 15th list and have been flying the Avro pretty much every reserve day. They even gave me a trip ending the night of the 14th. Sounds like things could get really tight when we leave. Oh, well.

I called crew planning about that one saab fo in Detroit and he did a "furlough trade" with a more senior guy. So he keeps his job, but the kicker is he gets to keep Detroit while I (more senior) am stuck in Memphis. That is until a vacancy notice comes out. Slim chance of that.

I haven't been called in since Jan 11. I have 2 more days left to be called then it's time to join the unemployment line

I "worked," meaning I flew, a total of six days in Jan and none in feb. So now I am "sick" for this last reserve period.

On the Saab, I've been doing a whole lot of nothing on reserve. I get up at 4:55 check crew voice to see if anything is assigned, and then go back to sleep for hours.

About 10 I get up eat breakfast, drink a pot of coffee and catch up on my programs (as my grandmother would say).

finally around 330 I'll shower and change clothes, and by 4 I might actually leave the house knowing that I can't realistically do much flying at that point in the day.

It's nice to get paid for doing nothing, though.

I've been sitting and picking too....about the same ritual too. Wake up at 4:55, call crewvoice, go back to bed, wake up again and do the triple "s" (sh!t, shower, shave), take a nap, eat and watch reruns of "Cops" and "Jackass" and repeat. I did have one assignment this month and it was to take a slaab up to Quebec City for MX. Then they changed my contactable period to 7pm to 12am...so now i'm pretty much done until the 14th. At least at midnight I can run up to the booze store and grab a 40 of Mickeys.
