Update On Cal Hiring...

Hey, any CAL guys know if the company plans to slow or stop hiring starting in May then pick back up in the fall??? Just heard it from a few guys talking about it, but airlinepilotcentral.com says 330 to be hired this year with 15 - 20 per week. Thanks!

The slowdown in the summer is SOP. You can expect the hiring to slow drastically at the end of April/early May and pick-up again in September.

I just received an e-mail from AIRINC about a hiring convention. It stated that CAL would be hiring 64/mth throughout the year. Not surprisingly, they're information is wrong.

The hiring may trickle during the summer. This is because we don't have enough people to fly the summer schedule. Summer at CAL is very inder-staffed...wait a second.....we are always understaffed. IMHO, MGT is trying to figure things out ofter the POBS bomb that was dropped on us. Our staffing sucks according to me, but I am just a line slug.

330 pilots = 6.4 pilots per week on average.

Yeah...just when I thought I was done with the "little jets", the senior VP of flight ops comes in the day we all get our 73 assignment and says "So everyone in this class is going to the small jet huh?" :crying:
