They are having challenges filling classes, especially on the 190. The drop out rate for new hires with class dates assigned is about 30%! JB is being used as a stepping stone airline until WN/FDX/UPS/CAL calls...which is understandable.

Fact from his sisters brothers cousins neighbors ex girlfrieds roomate that flys for comair!

There are currently 2 classes per month both 190 and 320.. Approx 10-15 in each class..

We should all be happy that ANY airline is having trouble finding qualified candidates.. A pilot shortage is the best thing for this industry.. It will motivate more newcomers and improve the pay and QOL for the existing pilots.

I was in Orlando last week. I believe that latest class was a total of around 30 - about 23 or so A320 guys and the rest E190 guys. I don't remember the exact numbers but it was something like that.

We are not happy about having trouble finding qualified applicants. Under most circumstances this would be good but for us at Jetblue it's a direct reflection of our pay and benefits and managements idea of pilot worth. We have a great bunch of guys and gals working here who like the job and the company but money and retirement is money and retirement. We don't get very much of either.
