University Flight departments??

This forum is probably the best fit for this...... Anyone know of any universities that have a plane? For example, University of Virginia operates a citation for the president and the deans of the individual schools and select individuals. Know of any others?

Purdue, North Dakota, Kansas State.......I believe the list is fairly long

cool, not looking for schools with avaition degree programs, but schools that operate an airplane for business.

Some of those schools may be members of NBAA so a quick glance at a (hard to acquire) directory may help the search.

Perdue runs a beechjet, as does Arkansas. Happened to go through 400 initial with 2 pilots from both universities. UND has at least on Citation for hauling the higher ups. Those are the only specifics I know, but I am sure there are many more.

A seach of the FAA records may help if looking at a particular location.

Most of the SEC schools have a plane. I know Georgia has a 421. And Tennessee has a King Air 200.

Oh, Alabama has an Astra and Auburn has two Citations.

Last time to GNV, Florida had a hangar with a couple citations. The line guy said they fly more on the sports/recruiting side.... go figure.

Notre Dame has a Citation V or two.
Ohio University has a King Air 350
Ohio State has a King Air (200 maybe)
Michigan has a Citation and a King Air
South Carolina has a few King Airs

As mentioned above, Kansas State = CJ and C-90, used to run the higher ups around and recruit for sports teams.

I know for a fact Ohio State does not have a King Air, at least not for quite a while. Only the trainers...

I believe the Indiana University Foundation operates a Saab 340 and a few King Airs out of Bloomington, IN. If I remember correctly, the Saab is utilized to fly the university's sports teams and the King Airs are for school administrators.

The airplanes actually belong to the Univeristy Athletic Association, which is a private corporation that runs the athletic programs at the university (not totally clear on the specifics so be gentle if I've got this wrong)...they make their money off of t-shirts and logo merchandise and what-have-you. I think they still have a King Air 200 as well.
