Was wondering if anyone from UA can answer this question.

Made a listing on United for family of 3 on ID Travel from Rome to IAD.

Working for SWA can only list for economy. Get to gate and because economy is full we cannot get on even though pleanty of seats open in business. I was told that this is United's policy. They will not move a paying passenger to business to accommodate a non rev and will not move an economy non rev to business.

Is this really true? I went over to ask American Airlines if this was their policy as well and was told no, they would move passengers or accommodate non revs in any seat.

Thanks,
Stuck in Rome
