I know how most people feel about Mesa and believe me this is NOT flamebait by any stretch; just an observation...
I know Mesa has the reputation among other things of hiring alot of inexperienced lowtimer types, but I just wanted to say this:
In the most recent New Hire class here there are a LARGE number of furloughed United guys and gals here. They will be occupying the Dash, ERJ, CRJ, and I believe some even went to the Beech... They range in seniority within United, but a large number of them were quite senior and I'd say the majority were former military... In my current class I'd say of the roughly 40 of us the average age is high 30's and average amount of experience is incredible..
They are an extremely professional group, and are maintaining a very surprisingly positive attitude throughout this whole thing... I'm really looking forward to learning things from this group and I think this is only going to GREATLY strengthen the pilot group and union presence here at Mesa...
I hope this is the beginning of a positive turnaround here in morale and reputation. I seriously hope we keep 'em coming in here and encourage those UAL pilots who are "on the fence" to at least come check it out...
Good luck out there folks...
