Curious what happened to UFS who used to operate the ATP's out of ORD for United? I was reading an old magazine I found (1998) and it had an old article about them and their hiring/training procedures. I remember I used to see them training at night in FWA back in 1999 with those big ole' ATP's...

UAL eat their young. I'm sure a UFS guy will chime on and fill in the blanks. They flew the BAT. Big AS$ Turboprop. UAL somehow decided they were to be disaseembled. Some UFS pilots got pref interviews at UAL others did not...

I was a former UFSer

The ATP's were mx hogs and the reliability and ontime performance was bad so, they discontinued UFS, parked the ATP's and laid everyone off. UFS was the red headed step child of TSA but it was a fun place to work. The ATP although and odd duck was fun to fly. Got to go to Scotland for the sim. I was the last off the street captain hired (and that made it through). Tough program really. Some went on to TSA some to UAL, yes they gave a preferential interview but hired all the, um ,nevermind. The ATP's are all overseas now and most UFSeres including myself have found jobs elsewhere but having an ATP on my ATP is kind a cool.

Worked FLight Ops for UFS back in the day...til mgmt an UAL put the ax in....sure wish the ATP was still around. Great airplane I thought, would have loved to fly it. Seen some of the freight conversions...looks like its making a pretty good freighter across the pond.

The ATP was a big old b*tch. You know you were flying an odd duck when every controller would ask what the BAT was. I had a good time there except for being in class with CommanderHoek.

Terryhfly

Terry is really a woman

TerryHFly we thought was a man but found out is a lesbian name Terrisa. Works in Denver now at a bar called "Big Richards". Puts on a great show does this thing with a model airplane in her "T--T". Quite a performance. She use to offer the boys "JOBS"! back at UFS, if you know what I mean!

wow. sounds like a typical freak show that hulas would hire (not all though, take no offense) when did this weirdo work there? don't remember a "terry"

Is it true that TSA headquaters or part of their HQ are in a Howard Johnson (HoJo) out in STL?

Who-loss had a family member who owned it... that is why it smelled like Curry.

I was in STL for recurrent a couple months ago and it occured to me that Hulas might have some kind of interest in the Indian restaurant on top of the building. Does anybody know if that's true? That place has awesome food but if Hulas owns it, you know employees don't get paid anything.

You guys still crack me up. Some of the most fun flying I did was flying the BAEATP "BATPLANE" "Advanced Turbo Problem". In the final days we were flying from CWA to ORD and tried to call a 900 number on AIRINC. Those rat bastards wouldn't let us do it, can't imagine why.

I was just telling someone the other day about the standby controls...HA HA HA HA HA HA and what a great autopilot it had... HA HA HA HA HA HA..........

Great bunch of guys and girls to fly with.....

CEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I remember seeing them in Kalamazoo some years back before Air Wisconsin took over with the Dorniers. They had to play around with a LOT of ballast at the end of the night when they did overnight flight training.

Are there any of those ATP's still flying in the us or did they all get sent home?

oh my flashback... over nights at CWA.... UFS had all the best hot spots for us to over night... YIKES I can still smell the paper mill

millhouse--

what i was told was that the restaurant people were related to the hojo people who were his wife's side of the family.

interestingly, the hotel, the office building and the parking deck were all registered separately with different investors. I think hulas was in the parking deck but no the other two. who knows.

i thought that they had moved into the twa training center on natural bridge?

Best bunch of guys and girls is right! They don't make em like that any more! Wonder where everyone is now

I asked for some info a long time ago about the BAe ATP. I love that airplane. One guy on here said because of the fly by wire system, it was like trying to fly the plane after a couple of bong hits, or something to that effect. It was pretty funny. I would love to fly one.

I wonder why there not used by places like MAC or empire? Mx?
