Could somebody please give me the term limits of your union elected officials?
How many years can they hold office in one term?

ALPA is different for different positions. Status Reps (domicile reps) hold office for three years. MEC Officers (MEC chair, vice chair, and secretary-treasurer) hold office for two years. Executive Vice Presidents at the national level hold office for two years. And the four national officers hold office for four years. There are no term limits for anyone.

Unless someone better (experience and campaign promises I agree with) runs against Luthi, either after 2 more years, or some deal this summer, I will vote for him again. I am hoping for a recall vote followed by a change in the bylaws with the recall failing miserably and the nuclear option only allowed following a clear bylaws violation after proven. It is so ugly now that I think we need to show the will of the people to finally put this behind us one way or another.

Unless any new bylaws proposal includes shorter terms, it's getting a big fat "no" from me.

The whole term limit change was shady at best.. Let's see, we didn't get the required numbers in time so to solve that we'll just extend the timeframe.

I'd say that after all this mess new leadership is in order. No matter who is at fault and for what....

Term limits at NJA will be whatever the Pres. wants... Just has to change the Bylaws.... What is Luthi going to do, go back and fly the line after this? Yeah he'll have alot of fun. No managers will be looking over his back at all! He'll most likely team up with Olsen and moonlight as consultants. Once Mark's Pres. run is over he'll be heading out the door whether he really wants to or not. And he knows it. Unfortunately for him he's tried to step on one to many EMT members. And doubt they will forget it.

It's one thing to disagree or cast doubts on management. It's another to publicly try to oust them. Complain about safety in a national newspaper. And say they are complete and utter failures at their jobs over and over. meanwhile the 3rd richest man in the world has nothing but praise for NJA leadership over the last 3 years.....
