Anyone have any good suggestions what shoes to get to
avoid beeping at the TSA gauntlet?
Would prefer some that I can go to a regular shoe store and try on instead of having to order online. ( I have a trip tomorrow afternoon and would like to have them by then)

Thanx

You might try the search function at the top the page. Covered many times.

Deer Stags! I concur. They are comfortable and inexpensive. I found 'em for 40 bucks at JC Penny and they can also be found at Sears. Good Luck!

Skechers!

$53 Scholars Ivy model...slip-on, so no metal eyelets and no metal shank. I ran them through the X-ray machine and had them hand-wanded the first time I went through a checkpoint to be sure. I haven't set the **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed things off since!

Foleys' department stores carrys 'Brass Boot' model of Italian deer skin dress shoe for $100. It looks fantastic, feels like a slipper and gives you the freedom to wave at the TSA with the back of your hand. Chau baby!!!!

When you go shopping, bring a magnet with you. Run it up and down the inside of the shoe to check for a metal shank.

I wear Eccos (low boots with laces). Comfortable, leather, waterproof (Gore-tex) and expensive as hell . . . . $180.

Rockports...

Rockport makes their shoes whithout metal now. Very comfortable and shineable...

I wear ECCO's. A little pricey but the sole is still like new and almost two years old.

Rockport soles are slick before they are 1 year old. It was always fun when it was wet.

Footjoy Classics. Aka, Teaching shoes. First pair lasted 6 years. Expensive but good for those long terminal walks.;) TC

Holy Crap, I can't afford real shoes for commuter f/O wages. I wear Nike sandals. If I happen to have a line check, I wear socks.

Socks

How about socks. We were going through security with another airline crew...all of us had to take off our shoes, and this other pilot had on white socks.

It looked pretty cool, I hope it catches on.

If you've never had a pair, you have no idea what you're missing. Absolutely, positively, the best flying shoe ever made.

Jeez, you'd need a mink trimmed uniform jacket and a fat pimp roll in your front pocket if you had the sack to wear those to work.

Thank you flightinfo!

I ordered some deerstags after reading this post, simply because after going to there website I found they had my size.and they. I have a hard time finding stuff in that exact size; well guess what those deerstags are great, they're awfully comfortable!
