anyone see the memo from Mike colgan that talks about giving the FA's a 200 dollar a year uniform allowance? You can accrue a balance of 400 bucks for new uniform items. Anyone know if the pilots are getting any new perks such as theres or can they not offer us anything because of the union drive?

The company can give the pilots ANYTHING they want to. The thing is when we win the election to get ALPA on property, they will need to keep the changes. If they want to raise Captain's pay, they can go right ahead. When we win, it will be in place, then they can't change it.

Don't let the company say they 'can't give it to the pilots because of the union drive.' They can but are not. If they wanted to 'give' us anything, they would have in February when they raised FO pay.

I just want a fat paycheck and asomething other than Burger King on the table.....I guess I'm outta luck here.....

You are right. The company can "give" us anything. The problem is that anything they give us can be used by ALPA (or the organizing committee) to file a lawsuit charging the equivalent of "unfair labor practices". That is why they can't.

Back in '99 Skywest gave their pilots a pay raise when there was a union drive going on. When the union drive was finished Skywest took it back. No lawsuits filed, it is the companies right to do what they want.

Bottom line is this. If the company really wanted to give us anything they would have in February when they raised the FO rates.

Bottom line is we work for the cheapest most ill-run business I have ever seen.
I hope the company tanks and takes the CEOs with it. I hope there is a major recall on the Denali for the driver's side airbag deploying and disfiguring the head of the driver!!! hahahahah

I am going to start my own airline called "Shyt Air" where we fly a piece of Shyt, make Shyt, and treat you like Shyt. At least then people know what they are getting into when they fly it!
hahhhah

It's called Piedmont, man. We douse pax in Skydrol, we can't procure parts for the antiques in the system, we can't procure talent to drive the dang things... But then again, we had the highest paid regional pilots in the world for May. One out and back in open time paid 842.00/hr. Sounds like a swan's song to me...

"We're upping our standards, so up yours!"

The COLGAN is very strong with this one.

Colgan is what you make of it.
I've managed to survive, barely, without too much of a loss in mental stability.
Oh, and forget the Burger King comment earlier...I actually have lost 20 pounds cuz I can't afford to eat anymore....
But I'm getting tons of Turb PIC in a hot and shhhhweaty Beeeeaaaaatttttch! Love the Beech....Beech frat for life. Now I'll go cry myself to sleep, dreaming of cool and comfy pilots with dual Air Cycle Machines, and hot FAs....

But ALPA (or the org committee) is sure doing it now!!!

Nice try.

you should transition to the saab but we have 2-half air cycle machines. oh and the hot FA's, yeah it is pretty dang hot in the cabin esp in LGA.

When are we getting rid of the Beech pilots. I hate them, they are holding the rest of the company down. There is a reason why they got the Beech and not the SAAB.(crappy sim interview)

For completely different reasons, different Org Committee, different drive, different issues.

jtrain,
That is exactly my point. It can be used at anytime anywhere. It all depends on the whim of ALPA! Anything the company gives us can be used as a basis for a lawsuit because ALPA deems it unfair. How fair is that?
