Gotta laugh at quickly DAL/SWA creeped into this. Amazing.

They seem to own this board. We're just missing some East vs West to make the drift complete! :D

Why does ALPA even bother? Why waste everyone's time in neogtiations among pilot groups for a SLI? In recent history, no one has agreed outside binding arbitration - except Airtran but that was basically at gun point. DAL/NWA, UAL/CAL, 9E/XJ/9L, USAir/AWA all went to binding arbitration. ALPA's official stance should be just binding arbitration because it allows them to just dust their hands clean and walk away with the responsibility thrown on a geriatric lawyer.

EXACTLY! Ask USAPA how they plan to get away with trying to pretend to represent all of the pilots while obviously choosing one side over the other. ALPA should eliminate the waste of time that is negotiations and go straight to arbitration. The arbitrator has no interest in the outcome, while the double-agent union has to placate the larger dues source or risk them bolting. In Prater's case they did both.
