CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2002-- United Airlines (NYSE: UAL - News) and US Airways today announced they will move forward with their proposed codesharing agreement first announced on July 24. The Department of Transportation (DOT) today notified both carriers that is has concluded its review of the agreement.

United and US Airways customers can begin enjoying access to each carriers' airport clubs on Oct. 14. This includes access to United's Red Carpet Clubs(TM) and US Airways Club locations. US Airways Club members traveling on a same-day United ticket will have Red Carpet Club access and vice versa.
Additionally, in the coming months, United and US Airways customers will be able to earn and redeem miles in each carrier's frequent-flyer programs. Code share flights will be phased in starting in the first quarter of 2003.
