Fox-Tree, Excellent post!! No one in my FDX interview class was forced to be there! If you love SWA go there, they're hiring! You don't have to defend a great job by bashing one you've never had! I like FDX so I went there! I've spent most of my career with people who work twice as hard for half as much and would'nt leave for FDX or SWA because they like what they do!

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. Can't wait for another JetBlue "cleaning the cabin" thread, followed by whether it's professional for SWA pilots to fold the seat belts and pass out peanuts (I say no!)

BBB

You'll get banned if you start that thread.

Awesome post Fox-Tree! If the Guppy's the most capable aircraft he's flown ya just gotta feel sorry for the lad. 8 legs a day bouncing between Des Moines and Cedar Rapids? ... just shoot me! :uzi:

BTW ... I personally feel rushed on a 48hr HNL layover, don't you? After enjoying quite a few 96+hr layovers of SCUBA diving, snorkeling, surfing, working out, renting a Hog or Viper and terrorizing da local boyz, I barely get enough time to throw back a few at Duke's or Chuck's without packing my bag again.

Not having some TSA weenie cop-wannabe sniffing my breath and strip-searching me daily ... PRICELESS! :D

YMMV,

BBB

We were checked into the Penang beach resort for a 72-hour layover, sitting around a table in the grass by the pool, drinking pitchers of Tiger, barefoot, watching the parasailers in front of the sunset. The captain looked over at me and drawled, "This f*cking job....."

BBB -
Don't feel sorry for him - he obviously knows what he likes. Maybe he's got something, ya know?
Why would I want to spend some time watching the sunset at Duke's with a Mai Tai and a hotty on vacation? Single chicks (or those on hiatus from their marriage) NEVER want to have crazy, attachment free sex when they're on vacation in Hawaii. Let's not even talk about Sydney - That just wouldn't be fair.
I'd much rather spend a third of my 15 hour layover working an F/A in the Lubbock Marriot and the rest of the week dodging her around the system.

Don't forget those Jet Skis. Oh, and the Muslim girls in all black... Wow, those eyes.

No, I am an algorithm programed by Websitemaster and controlled by Darth Longhorn.:)

I don't know what you mean by real? I admire guys sitting on the beach making Per Diem, 150K++, flying jets and getting on with the ladies! What the heck is wrong with that??

LOL!!!! I'll have you know that reading that required every ounce of muscular restraint and control I could muster to prevent my just-sipped Jack/Coke from being forcefully expelled out my nostrils!

BBB <--- much more careful tonight!

First of all. This is BULLSH!T. SWA invented Lubbock and even we don't stay at the Mariott.

Secondly. Shut up already. Jesus man. I like my job. I really do. Well I did until I read your post.

Thanks for nothing.

Hey Gup -
While I certainly dig what we got, I have enough buds at WN to know you guys have a pretty good thing too. It's all good.

I especially like the "ta-ta flash" to the newbies on IOE. The best we can get is the LCA throwing the December Penthouse in our lap.

And..... while I'm not an "orgy guy" (no mustache) - the room parties that morph into much more might be worth seeing once. I have some pretty accurate first hand accounts from guys that I can only respond to with "Wow". WN occasionally turns the aviation clock back to the 60s and the free love "good ole days". Good on you guys.

Fox,

I would like to dislike you, but you are actually making me laugh! I can just see your "back of the clock pasty white self" sipping mai tai's on the beach:D

Dang it man. Just when I'm about to give it all up and come to Fed Ex you've got to bring up the room party memories.

I saw the sunrise in San Diego once. That was shortly after getting kicked out of the hot tub.

Thanks man. I needed that.

Gup

Dislike me? Hmmmm. I've never considered that. Do you think someone actually could? Nahhhh. I have too much money and buy too many drinks on layovers.

Back side of the clock is all relative - keep flying west toward the land of LBFMs and it stays sunny for a long, long time. The only thing that stays "pasty white" on me is Mr. Happy (and that's just 'cuz he prefer latex evening wear and needs to rest when I'm sunning on the beach).
You know, I make myself laugh too. I would like to dislike me too, but I can't.
Cheers.

As Jeff Spicoli would say, Awesome totally Awesome!

I liked to fly fighters

you had to throw that in.

By the way, I flew freight before. I've been in the UPS and Fed Ex hubs at all hours of the night.

I think its great you like your job, as I like mine. I just wont stand for false statements about my job. Most people would not care about this, I do cus this is an interview board and some people come here for information. Plus, since you guys have it so good, I'm doing my research cus, "I'm outta here when the hedges run out!!!"

SWA/FO....

You actually used to somewhat cool to have a discussion with on this board. The more years you put in with SWA the more of an A$$hole you become. What gives? You're suppose to become a better person because of your awsome job..... I don't get it... I know you still have some good in ya man and not just the "we're the best of the best of the best SIRRRR".... c'mon... this fox guy is a d!ck;).... and EVERYONE can see right through him.... LOL... sorry fox... you have no idea how much I agree with you....LOL

Now lets all get off this high horse and make fun of the general and his beloved double breasted black suit... soon to be a blue single breasted suit:laugh:.

ps. PM me if you need a double breasted black suit with delta buttons on it;). Im selling it for real cheap. Wait a minute... .it might be a collectors item soon... nevermind.

Oh... and the freight flying you did as a contractor is NOTHING like flying for FDX or UPS.... I do know this because not only have I done both, but I also stayed at a holiday in express last night.... well not really cause I was at home in my own bed on reserve.... flown a whopping 4 hours this month... pphheeewww hard work this whole night flying thing.... sucks arse...let me tell ya.....

aren't all these planes big compared to whatever you learned to fly in?....whether it's a T-whatever or a bug smashing 150. Why do some folks get so wrapped up in the shape of the metal tube they get strapped into for so many hours of their life?

btw.......4 pages. you're getting some serious play outta this thread! Does Joe have a Remington?

you had to throw that in.

SWA/FO - WTF is your major malfunction? How does his enjoy flying fighters have anything to do with any outcomes in your life? Guess what...I like flying fighters too...and so does every fighter pilot I've ever met and it absolutely has nothing to do with you.

Hey, you like flying 737's from point A to point B for SWA right? Great, my hat's off to you, I don't give a sh*t. What is your problem with mil guys dude? This is trend item for you. Go get some professional help for your deep, personal issues. The guys flying fighters are over in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for this country along with all the other mil cargo and tanker guys supporting the mission. Instead of constantly giving them complete sh*t, you oughta be thanking them for serving our country. Every time a mil guy comes back from the theater I thank him and welcome him home...if you have any backbone - you ought to do the same. And the next time this country comes under attack, those same mil guys you constantly crap on are going to continue to defend this country so you can sit fat, dumb, and happy and continue to fly your 737's for SWA to your heart's content.

SWA F/O

I feel sorry for the poor guys sitting to your left that are sharing the same air as you. Does SWA have a "do not fly with list?" I'll bet that you're on it multiple times.

Remington,

My hats off to ya brotha.....This has now turned MIL/CIV sure to go many more pages.... You da man!!

I loved it - there's a great open air Indian restaurant across the street and to the left. Nice pool, nice beach, very friendly people. I met a captain that took his family to that hotel for a week.

What does flying a fighter have to do with a SWA and Fed Ex thread. That is the point U tools. Sorry you homos think that its related to your current job, cus its not.

Net-WorkQueen, so with your 3rd company in 5 years you finally found a "keeper". Good for you.

The only thing I have learned from this thread is to never let your wife go on vacation to Hawaii!

SWA do uc he....

Good to see ya back and full of spunk. Glad to see that you're making friends with everybody here ... lol.... yeah 4th job in 5 years to be exact.... loser extra ordianreeee..... at least I CAN get jobs when needed...eeeehhh? I see that you're gonna be the number one guy at SWA on 90% of the captains no fly list:puke:in 2006. Now get out there and fly your 90 hours in 12 days in the month of december..... hehehe..... and merry xmas to all even you swa dou cheboy.

SWA guys/gals,

If your company treats you "so great", why do you need a union? Please, humble out a bit and stop taxiing like azzholes.

Anywho.....

The Legacy's have a better chance at more revenue and expansion than the LCCs. They may be down right now, but as a whole they will dominate the market. Especially on the international routes. LCC's will never be able to compete there.
