I'm not sure how far United flies internationally with their 767s- really long flights use 4 pilots instead of only 3. The flights with 4 pilots won't take any jumpseaters since the policy is one jumpseater for each empty jumseat and both are filled on those flights- I couldn't jump from Tokyo to Chicago on a half full 777 because there were 4 pilots. I could have flown from Tokyo to San Fran though since that only had 3 pilots, freeing up one jumpseat. Good luck.
Umm not true... It might depend on the Capt. I went from JFK to NRT with both j'seats filled and I got a seat in the back. Crew was great and one of F/Os even came back to check on me during the flight.
Then that crew was clearly an exception for the current UAL FOM restricts OMC (domestic or international) to the number of cockpit installed jumpseats only.
Is this restriction of limiting jumpseaters to the exact number of available jumpseats include their own company pilots as well, or just non UAL pilots? That would be ashame if they didnt even let there own pilots sit in an available seat in the cabin.
And can Eagle pilots grab a seat in back if one is available on all flights within AA's network?
