Having an advanced rating makes absolutely no difference. Every year I update my times and I always seem to add a new type rating, a bunch of turbine PIC, etc and they tell me it means squat. They simply look for time in the airplane.
I thought that 500 hours in the airplane was going to make a big difference, it didn't ($300). I thought 1000 hours in the airplane was going to make a big difference, it didn't ($500).
The way I look at it is a necessary evil. Unfortunately, the evil is about to get much worse, as I just got a quote for an E90 King Air for a small $15k per annum. Ouch.
