The hearing date was originally set for Nov 4, moved to Dec, and now:

Argument on the post-trial motions will be in January on a date TBA. Those motions include: ALPA's motion for a new trial, ALPA's motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict, and ALPA's motion to decertify the class.

All motions are fully briefed and we are confident that we will prevail and proceed to the damage phase.

Ideally the Judge will hold a discovery conference in January, following the argument, to set a scheduled for discovery and the submission of expert reports.
Who does Alpo think it is here, usapa and seham? What a disgusting outfit. May the force be with you, and Alpo gets it's ass nailed to the wall.

News: both sides have agreed to stay post-trial motions for three months and enter into mediation.

Mediation means a professional (in this case, retired federal judge James Rosenbaum) will try to get both sides to agree to a settlement. Either side can withdraw at any time and it goes back to court.

Don't expect any further news until the mediation fails or succeeds.

TWA Dude, I appreciate the updates! Thank you!

Update: looks like no settlement is imminent:

Dear Class Members,
The mediation on March 12th concluded without a settlement, although we anticipate meeting again on April 27th with ALPA and the mediator for continued settlement discussions. Because of the confidentiality provisions by which we are bound, we unfortunately cannot provide with you any additional details concerning the mediation. We have a status conference with Judge Irenas on Friday, March 23rd, and intend to ask the Court to rule on the post-trial motions. We will always remain open to continued settlement negotiations with ALPA but see no reason to delay any longer a ruling on the post-trial motions. We will post another update following our conference call with Judge Irenas.
Regards, Class Counsel

TWAdude,

Thanks for the update. Any idea what "post-trial motions" are?

Routine stuff. I think the biggest one was ALPA's motion to set-aside the verdict, a hail-mary by most defendants. Other motions involve the schedule for damages-phase discovery.
