Turbulence blamed for injuries on 2 Boston flights
(AP) – 1 day ago*****
BOSTON (AP) — Officials say as many as 20 people reported being hurt during severe turbulence on two flights that landed in Boston. As many as three people required hospitalization.
Massachusetts Port Authority spokesman Phil Orlandella says 11 people on a Lufthansa flight from Charlotte, N.C., to Munich, Germany, reported being hurt after turbulence forced the plane to be diverted to Boston on Sunday night.
An airline spokeswoman said earlier that five people were injured on the flight and two were hospitalized. The jet was on the ground for about 90 minutes before continuing on to Germany with more than 260 people aboard.
Earlier Sunday, nine people on a JetBlue flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Boston reported injuries caused by turbulence, including at least one who spilled hot coffee. No one was hospitalized.
