TSA just made commuting more fun

I'm a FO with a regional who has a contract with a mainline carrier. Just looking for clarification on the memo. By "crewmember's airline" are they saying the airline you are employed with? Or...the mainline carrier my company flies for. Common, logical sense tells me my company. However, I ask because my company doesn't serve my home airport and, obviously, this impacts me. Thanks.

Has there been recent discussion of this? I remember some talk of it a while ago, but if this becomes a reality, I'm getting out of this industry.

I don't believe there has been recently but revenue generating schemes like this never seems to fall off the IRS's radar screen.

Just one more thing to SCREW with the guy just trying to get to work! I wonder if they have continued "their" background checks? I mean, did nt they have "Fellons" working in the TSA? Another VICTORY for the Idiot Brigade!!!

I guess I'll never understand why the TSA and government in general keeps solving non-problems. Crewmembers are not the threat, and the concept that my 121, FBI background checked, photo ID is somehow less secure than a standby boarding pass eludes me.

In the past 2 weeks I have j/s ed out of DFW, GSO, CLT, ORD, LAS, LGA (2) and I have not had a problem with TSA and I was NOT in uniform. I hope my trend continues.

Is there an official copy of this security procedure from TSA? I had problems in ATL even though my airline DOES serve that airport. The TSA guy had no idea I could get through with just my ID. He insisted that everyone now needs a boarding pass. I'd like a copy to show them when they don't know their own rules.
