The Washington Post reports that a new survey by the brass at Transportation Security Administration shows job satisfaction among workers is up markedly at the agency. The survey found that 59% of employees were satisfied or very satisfied with their jobs, up from 35% in 2004. But one union official discounted the findings. Tim Kriescher, president of TSA Local 1, said long shifts and high injury rates are serious impediments to high morale. "Cronyism, favoritism -- it's still very huge," Kriescher told the newspaper.

How do you get hurt doing nothing?

Maybe if you are fat, dumb and lazy and you stick your head in the x-ray machine.....

carrying those empty bins from the end of the line to the front of the line and waving people through the metal detector must be a BITCH!!!!...:pimp:

This is is government job, things like this are normal for that kind of job. I'll tell you I'd rather not stand next to that X-Ray Machine for any long period of time. No matter how safe they tell me it is.

Those TSA agents wouldn't be there if the "CEO's of the air" would have looked over their shoulders once in while and pondered how flimsy those doors were.

Door strength was not a factor pre 911 for several reasons. And if pilots had wanted better doors the company would have laughed, said we can't aford the cost or the extra weight.

Crew safety is not a concern.

If it was then 75% of our hotels would have to be changed. I never leave the hotel room without my ID, wallet etc... Think about what could happen if someone got a hold of all your ID and you went missing. Half the gate agents don't check ID's. The picture quality is so poor that it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. When airlines have over 4000 pilots who's to know who is really who? I am scared to think about what would happen if...

Maybe nasal problems from handling all those stinky shoes?

it's easy to get hurt lifting bags when you do it all day. i don't care if the bags weigh 10 lbs. it doesn't help that most people (all americans) are fat as hell either. but i guess the original post was about ripping on the tsa workers.
