Just got a phone call to notify my of recall and that it was mandatory. Cant defer recall gotta go back withing 30 days. Told them I wasnt interested in coming back. They said I gotta respond to the letter in writing with my intentions.

well since they woke me up and I wasnt very coherent, I was like I want to defer. I guess you cant defer recall on a mandatory recall. Oh well

Do you already have another job? If so, tell TSA that you can't wait to come back. Then don't show up for class. The only fitting way to treat them.

Yeah, they called you and the other 59 people on recall. S.L. said that only 5 out the 59 are even considering coming back. They've had over sixty resignationtions in the last month and about thirty since the begining of august. They actually have had schedulers waiting in the jetways waiting to junior F.O.s. because they are so short.( I would start exiting through the service door if its the end of your trip). I figure that fred's master plan just cost the company a lot of money. (59 F.O.s @ about $20,000 each in training costs) There is little doubt now that they will have to run a new hire class to replace all those who have resigned. It will be interesting to see if they cancel a Blow Jet class and then offer them a chance to work at TSA! Oh the irony!

I do have another job, havent started class yet. I along with most in the second group wouldnt have to go back through class again since we havent even lost landing quals in the airplane. Maybe a sim session to get back up to speed, dont really know, dont care to find out.

It will be interesting to see how many more leave TSA. Skywest is having an open house at the Doubletree in STL today. I understand a lot of Mesa pilots are over there.

I wonder how many A.M. airport reserve guys(are there any) got on the double tree shuttle and went over there, that would be awesome.
SkyWest recruiter-why are you wearing your uniform
AR1-Im working
recruiter-Huh
AR1-Im on airport reserve for TSA and thought id come see how things were over here
recruiter-ok, well welcome aboard

I also got a call this morning from EP. Resignation letter is in the email outbox. IOE starts tomorrow at XJT. Amazing how easy training is the second time around  .

why don't you come to ASA then and find out.......

I do feel for your situation and agree that you have it bad. Being from Trash States and being directly harmed by goatjets I just have to say that it is not the same situation. ASA management did not create Skywest and keep the seniority list separate to f^ck you over. You were bought buy Skywest and then f^cked over.

I wish I new what the answer for this industry is. I dont. And with pilots bending over to screw others it will only get worse.

I totally understand about everyone screwing you over...but this is free enterprise...everyone loves Wal-mart---right...you get what you ask for and that is what America is getting..cheap product and we all have to be paid cheaper labor.

However, you guys voted on the extra flying and voted it away, knowing that the company could form another airline (mesa and freedom deal) to get around the contract with American... and at least Gojets voted a union in...Skywest pilot have voted twice and voted it down both times....

Alpa National does not consider Gojet pilots scabs. I think they will Skywest if they don't vote Alpa in this time. So Career at Skywest fighting other regionals the rest of ones life?

My question is if we refuse recall, i.e. resign, will we still get our attendance bonus. I have been told yes and no.

Ask a gojet pilot what their union does for them... Yea, and that contract they have too... Just amazing (im laying the sarcasm on thick)

Rjacobs- Dont count on it. Id cash anything i recieve.... it can then be sent back to cover your uniform bill....LOL...

Theyll never see a dime of that uniform money, ill send them the uniform to sell to a new hire. Used a few times, always dry cleaned(and by that I mean air fluff in the dryer with a few downy sheets).

And ALPA is doing AWESOME things for us regional guys RIGHT! That is why Skywest does not want a union-- they need one but tell them one GREAT thing that ALPA will do for a skywest pilot???? waiting??? OH take thier 2%

the Gojet thing is in the past--they have captains getting hired at Continental and Airtran here in ATL...and jetblue does not care about union crap so yeah Gojet pilots are just people too, that voted a union in!!!

1. Lets put aside the 70-seat pay (its a reasonable complaint I have no argument against); Skywest pilots seem to be treated quite well from their management/scheduling. Why vote it a union if their not needed ala jetblue? What percentage of your paycheck goes to ALPA or some other union? How would you like a 1.5% RAISE?

2. Your last quoted paragraph just makes no sense. Some one is a scab if they don't hire someone else (alpa)? That’s just the dumbest argument ever and I can’t think even ALPA would agree with it, but if they did it would be more than just a little self-serving and well...mob-like. “If you want to keep doing this flying bidness in this here part of town you might do well to have some ‘protection’”, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to ya”.

ALPA is only as good as those doing the representation. Air Wisconsin and ExpressJet ALPA have done a great job and worked for good contracts.

Skywest not wanting a union has nothing to do with anything. They have found a way (without a contract) to get along with management. Quite a feat in todays marketplace.

If you resign within a year, you will get your bonus. $600 bucks with no sick calls or what have you.

You guys are doing this all wrong! The place sucks-tell them Yeah, I'll be there. Then when you get the call-why aren't you in class tell them you thought it was next month.

Then send in your resignations!

I think you could describe it quite well. You joined the alter ego carrier g0jet and now you are getting the treatment you deserve.

Back on topic...

They also said that they were expecting to upgrade starting in "the fall." Does anyone know how the attrition has been on the capt side? I know that FOs have been flying out the door(NPI), but it's not that hard to get a job at a regional with an SIC type in an RJ already.

Anyone know if any senior guys are leaving?

I dont know about CAL and JBLU but there ain't none here, and if there is ever was a GoJet Pilot listed on the potential interview list...which they post in the Crew Lounge and Training center (along with the name of their current airline) myself and about 50 other ex-Trans States pilots would be sending in emails to put the kaibash on that... no doubt... we have all talked about it....
