With so many people bailing off the sinking ship that is Trans States, they have decided to cancel the August 8th furloughs. This is only 12 of the 60 furloughed pilots.

Further proof that this company has no clue what it is doing.

I wonder how many of those Aug 8 folks already have another job lined up.....It will be interesting to see how many of that group are still here the end of August.

just talked to a good buddy who was supposed to be one of the furloughees....he said TSA cancelled 17 flights yesterday due to rest and time issues and so many people leaving ASAP....i say good luck fellas its still a lost cause in my mind...get out while you still can! Im sure the officers at the mainline offices were delighted to hear that 17 flights were cancelled in one day due to staffing issues.

All of the guys that I've talked to that are being furloughed in August already have jobs lined up. I wonder how many will still be around?

3rd day of a 4 day. on time performance is 2/7. This place is tanking.
Also , i hear that SABRELINER got an instrumental contract and is taking numerous "qualified TSAH Mechanics" away from our operation.

TSAH is run day to day with no regard for any intellectual future planning. This is just another example of what happens when you have unqualified and uneducated individuals in ceratin high level positions that cannot perform, plan, or act on what is going on. Totally reactive and not proactive and showing daily.

If the fo's can, I recommend getting your affairs in order and interviewing elsewhere (we have a TSA CPT LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION program that is highly successful and contacts at every airline you wish to interview with) with some sort of stability. This week your furloughed, this week you're not( while good news) is no way to live.
Contact the furlough committee ( i think that's what its called) or your local LEC representative for more information.

Good luck,
SKIPPY.

We lost 5 fo's in the time it took for the bid awards to be posted. WOW!

why we're not furloughing ( prelim #'s

I almost believe that it is done purposefully. They have their "Golden Children" now who will gladly bend over and take it. I don't believe there is much future with TSA now. Once the AX flying is gone, TSA will cease to exist.

Don't Forget RIC!

Yeah, Captain JR, you'll have a partner in crime--a downgraded Captain! After that RSQ checkride (reduced salary qualification), they'll all be doing 'The Minimum!'

If the company gets a reduction in staff, either through furloughs or resignations, they achieved their goal. So why is this proof they don't know what they are doing?

It's proof that TSA management is incompetent because they have been cancelling flights due to staffing issues for months and it took them until this week to figure out that they can't afford to furlough any more pilots.
