I wouldn't call them back. If I wanted to talk to guys like them I would go to Burger King. At least you could get a burger then, right?

One of these days we have to figure out how to bill the government for doing all their security work for them. Makes a lot more sense to have the TSA investigate the backgrounds of foreigners and give them a certificate saying they have the right to receive flight instruction in the US and put them in an easily accessible data base for CFI's to check. Relying on CFI's to verify the background credentials of foreigners is a big joke.

Well put. I'm not an active CFI anymore, but if I was I think I would send the TSA a bill for my time, just to see what kind of a response I got. Somebody should try it, with any luck it would help them see what we think of this stuff. I suppose I could bill all my time from 2005, if the IRS can do it, why couldn't I?

A couple of years ago I got a random out of the blue call from a TSA guy who somehow got hold of my CFI business card left at a place I hadn't instructed at in well over a year or so. Basically wanted me to fax him a copy of that certificate you print out from the security quiz. He also asked a few other questions about students in general, what type of flying I did and was checking to see whether I had been complying or at least knew how to, with new TSA regs.

I haven't instructed in about ten years, but will probably start doing a little insturcting on the side. Basically, I don't know anything about what you guys are talking about. Can you provide a link where I can learn what I need to do, or let me know. You can PM me so we don't waste space here. Thanks!

look at WAYTOOBROKE's post #4 he has the links
