There is a story circulating around the ASA crew rooms that a passenger went into a lavatory and decided to smoke a little marijuana. The smell permeated the entire cabin, and as a result the entire crew was given the next 3 days off by the company.

Not sure of the authenticity, but it sure topped any story I have heard up until now.

Why were they given the next three days off? Not meaning to sound stupid, but I had passengers that smoked pot in the lav before. Not a lot you can do aside from having the passenger met on the ground by law enforcement. Or did they think they somehow inhaled it?

so is it the government or the airline is setting a precedent that you cannot fly for three days after smoking reefer?

wow.. 2nd hand smoke that keeps you stoned for 3 days? where did they get it from?

;)
BC BUD!!!

I didnt hear the rumor but...

I dont know why the crew would get 3 days off. If you were at a location be it walking on the street, at a bar etc. and someone is smoking marijuana and you smell it, you are not going to get high on it nor come out positive for THC in a drug exam. My guess is that the airline did it for something called CYA. Cover Your A$$

I remember hearing the Captain call ops about the passenger smoking in the lav and asking for the police to come. If the crew got a few days off, to detox, that is good. The company would have been in a tough position drug testing them and having it come back positive.

That is one messed up situation, it was either the 22 or 23?
