Recently I was told by chuck that pilots can trip trade. I think it would be great to have 6 days off in a row, but if anyone could tell how easy it is to do I would appreciate it. Also any other regionals and how they compare, especially pinnacle. Thanks.

Expressjet has a great trip trade. You can trade trips, move days or if there is enough coverage, you can drop the whole trip, all without talking to scheduling.

It can be done and is done all the time. The biggest problem with trip trading for us in the NE is the large number of bases. The pool of pilots in each base is small, so therefore the number of pilots in each base to trip trade with is small. But if you can find someone and it doesn't affect rest or duty time limits for either of you, and it's salary expense neutral or saves money for the company, then no problem. Just put in the request and follow up with scheduling.

I trade trips all the time. mostly though i don't even ask for them, scheduling just trades me all around as they please..
