To me its just rumor but on the employee bus today a Trans State pilot said they reached a deal today with UAL for 25 ERJ-145s out of IAD and ORD. Said a press release was set for tomorrow. I'll believe it when it's official.

Memo
To: All Trans States Airlines Employees
From: Rick Leach
Date: July 9, 2003
Re: United Express
Trans States Airline has just reached an agreement with United Airlines to become a partner and operate select portions of the United Express service. The ink is barely dry on the Memo of Understanding, so there aren’t a lot of details available right now, but we are very excited and wanted to share this information with you all as soon as possible.

It is anticipated that the markets we will primarily feed will be Washington, D.C. (IAD) and Chicago (ORD) utilizing up to 25 50-seat regional jets.

United’s press release states “This new agreement takes two airlines with proven operational excellence and creates a business relationship that will benefit United’s customers in terms of service and on-time performance”, again reinforcing the fact that each of you are excelling in your jobs and making the major airlines take notice of Trans States Airlines.

This does not in any way affect our relationship with American or U.S. Airways so you shouldn’t notice any changes at all. We will keep you all apprised of new information as it becomes available to us – again, just wanted to keep you as informed as possible.

Congratulations to each of you on this significant development in the Trans States operation.

ACA can hardly be pleased by this announcement.

So far, SKYW, MESA, Air Wisky, TSA . . . anyone else want to fly RJ's for UA?

So, just to get the facts straight:

SKYW agreed to put 50 seat rates on a 70 seat, and then, wah-la, an MOU.

Mesa agreed to small raises that equaled concessionary pay to their 'real peers', and then, wah-la, an MOU.

Air Wiskey agreed to concessions and then, wah-la, an MOU.

TSA . . . did you agree to concessions, are you poorly paid, or are you flying equipment for a rate that is dissimilar?

Nobody rides for free!

Our rates right now are generally higher than Mesa's(by a dollar or two) and we get block or better not credit time. We did agree to a 2 year contract extension with COLA pay increases. Our management has been trying to get us to agree to 70 seat RJ pay that equaled Mesa's down to the penny. Our MEC told them to shove it.

Funny, I had heard that Mesa pilots forced everyone to take concessions, yet somehow, you did not take concessions, and yet you still got growth. :)

This is true leadership! A small gain, yes, but these small gains will add up over time. Way to fight the good fight and lead by example TSA!

Aahh, but the real question is...

What becomes of ACA. Anybody who knows a hair about business knows that ACAI can not survive w/out UAL contract. If you have any dreams that DAL will allow those CRJ's to fly under DAL code............ YOu are correct. They will be purchased at bargain prices and flown by ASA and CMR. Best short out there right now, ACAI. If anyone want to make some serious $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, short ACAI.

P. S. Buy, ILA, DYN, AMR, DAL, HYBD.. or be a punk working for a paycut. 10+ a share? I will buy them back at $3.85, and you took concessions. You will be read about in text books for years. Like Lorenzo. Right now, you are either wholly owned and profitable or you are whorely owned bidding for the absulute bottom so you can get (what I hear classified as growth). This is monumental, anyone who does not see that will have to go back to school and read about it. $$$$$

You guyes simply does not get it.
I've said it before, and I will tell you again: That ACA LOST THEIR GROWTH WITH UAL IS A RESULT OF THE COMAIR STRIKE. It started a new chapter in how commuters are used. Majors want MULTIPLE FEEDERS to do their flying and spread them over their entire rout network!!!!!!!!

Does NOT matter if ACA had same , or even a bit lower bid inn than Mesa or any other commuters. UAL does NOT want to put all eggs in one basket.

Thats ok, keep blaiming Mesa for this one also. Easier to use a scape goat than face the reality........................

Not really on the subject, but Stillaboo, your avatar is by far the best I've seen on this board- the movement enchants me and makes it difficult to comment on the real issues here.

Did you say something? What were we talking about?

I must admit, I adopted it from 'jKarl1'. He's on the military side, and he doesn't post nearly enough to do it justice (I will remove it if he asks me to).

'BigDog1' has also started using it recently.
