I believe that they are working on some sort of new waiver that will allow lower time pilots to upgrade to captain with less than 1500 hours, and when that happens, I will be at the top of the list.

What an idiot, what kind of kool aid are you drinking? What makes you think that you are going to upgrade ahead of all the FOs that have been there 4 or 5 years?

you only need 250 PIC to hold an ATP per FAR 61.159(4)(a) and of that 250, you can have SIC time under the supervision of a PIC (i.e. a 121 operation w/ a two pilot airplane) and it'll count the same, that's how G'stream gets 'er done.

What happened to the wonderful discussion of possible Waterski employment opportunities???

I think TSA is about the same as other regionals. Pay is not the worst or best. Upgrade is not the worst or best. Hulas wants to make max profit. We want to be paid better. What company doesn't want to make more money. Overall it's pretty much what you make of it. Everyone is nervous about the whole (No)Gojets thing. The guys that have been here a while, more than 3 or 4 years are all convinced that the company has shady intentions. It is not a "wonderful growth" opportunity except for management. I like it here OK. Ultimate goal is Southwest some day. Just don't come here thinking this place is great but don't come here thinking it's the bottom of the barrel as some would have you think. Good luck.

'training' --- there is nothing you can't accomplish if you put your heart and soul into. If you want to upgrade with less than 1500 hours, you do it! Don't let anyone tell you you're not good enough because you are! Seriously though, funny sh*t dude.

I did a little over 2 years hard time at TSA (95-98), it's good to see nothing has changed.

You can't be serious? What's ALPA's take on this Terry?

Sorry I took so long to reply, Rook.
From what I have heard, ALPA National will get involved in this. I try to just show up, go where they say, and forget about it all. That seems to keep things from eating one up too much.

And I'll be the first to get the heck off of your airplane. 1500 captains and 300 hour f/o's? You should be towing banners.

Wait until there's an accident and the suing lawyers discover these boy wonders were in charge of an airliner.

No sweat dude. I'm the same way. Sucks about your teammates though. Hopefully ALPA national will be proactive and that will all be behind them.

Looks like a high overcast.
Better ask for Type IV.

I am wondering what our "wonder 500 hr FO" would think about the little experiment their pilots did over MO.

Why is it whenever someone posts flame-bait, FLG 3701 gets trudged up as an argument tactic? How bout ignoring the flame, putting the Kool-Aid Pitcher down, and letting it go. There are tons of operators out there that do V-1 cuts in the actual airplane, intentional shutdowns and restarts...I even heard of a Saab crew throwing the props in reverse just to see what would happen. These topics never come up again and again. Ignore the 9E flamebait. This is a TSA thread anyway.
